Karen Kortsch, IWC President
President's Message Winter 2021

Greetings, dear friends of IWC,

Thanks to the dedication of so many of you, we are moving forward with new programs, committees, and strategies to develop a stronger, more powerful International Women’s Convocation.

Keep an eye out for a notice of our new membership program being launched this month! Your membership in IWC makes our collective voice louder and stronger on critical issues affecting women and girls worldwide. Join us!

While we wish we could be gathering in person this March, the annual UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) meets virtually this year, making it more accessible to those with limited time and resources. The sixty-fifth session of CSW (CSW65), March 15-26, 2021, is a unique chance to interact with women from all over the world and share ideas on how to advance the cause of gender equality. If you’d like to attend as part of IWC’s delegation, please let us know.

Apart from the official sessions of the CSW, there’s a two-week CSW65 Forum where activists gather from around the world to discuss issues pertaining to women and girls, network, and share strategies/best practices. IWC is holding three parallel events at the forum - please save the dates and plan to attend. Find out more.

This pandemic has set back many plans and given us new challenges to tackle. We are hopeful that on the other side of this once-in-a-lifetime event, we will emerge stronger and more committed to the values we hold dear. I look forward to seeing you in our virtual meeting spaces!
